After installing the ATI drivers on my system I got the error "Caught signal 11: Server Aborting" when trying to start x.org. I found that its a problem with the X.org release that is included with mandrake 10.1. So, I go to the x.org site and see that there are patches available but I don't know which version comes with mandrake (or even the procedure of patching it) Just wondering if someone could help me out with getting the latest x.org and getting the ati drivers working.
ogl runs extremely slow on my machine so I figured the drivers werent installed. When I went through the installation though I did fglrx and it found my 9700 pro and I chose xorg with 3D accelleration. But if I run supertux and select ogl as the rendering method is slows to a crawl, also whatever that space ship game is that comes with mandrake runs very slow.

ON another forum, a guy pointed his URPMI to the cooker and got the new X.org. he then installed the new ATI drivers and it worked perfectly. Problem is I don't know how to access the URPMI cooker and how to install x.org from source nor the patch.
