X Display won't load after upgrade from 10.0 --> 2005LE (x86_64)

So I decided to upgrade my Mandrake 10.0-amd64 system to 2005LE-x86_64. The upgrade seemed to go fine. It went through the boot, then at the end of the [OK] list, the screen flickered and I got a text login screen (instead of the GUI login).

I logged in as root, checked /boot and /etc/lilo.conf (also re-ran lilo). Everything seems to be in order here.

Then I checked /var/logs/syslog, and I saw these error messages:

Code:
devfsd: error execing: /etc/dynamic/scripts/part.script (file not found)
devfsd: error calling "unlink" in "GLOBAL"

IO Error in XOpenDisplay
X server for display :0 cannot be opened

devfs_remove: vccc/5 not found, cannot remove
                (repeat for vcc/1, vcc/1a, vcc/5a, etc.)
devfs_remove: vccc/5 not found, cannot remove
Some hardware specs:

ASUS A8V Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 3800+
NVidia Geforce 6800GT
SATA HD

Any ideas? Thanks!

More info:

When I upgraded, I removed 2 or 3 startup services that it looked like I don't need. The only one I can remember is postfix. Could this have cause the problem?

I also see these messages in /var/log/syslog:

Code:
atd: Error redirecting I/O: Permission denied
atd: atd startup failed
Thanks for you help!

Fixed my own problem ... I changed the driver from "nvidia" to "nv". That got KDE to work so I could download and install the latest nvidia drivers. Sorry for the spam!
