Wine-based apps and monitor troubles

For some reason, whenever I try to so much as even run Wine, WineX, Cedega, or CrossOver Office, which are all obviously based on Wine. My monitor seems to go off, with no way to get it to turn back on other than to reboot the system.

I'm running Mandrake Linux 10.2 (Mandriva Linux LE 2005), my monitor is a Dell 17" Flat Panel (E172FP). My video card is an ATI Radeon All-In-Wonder 9700 Pro. The rest of my system specs are listed in my signature.

Problem solved, at least for Wine.

I was finally able to get Wine-based apps working properly with my installation, all I had to do was change:
UseDGA = "Y" to UseDGA = "N" in ~/.wine/config

However, now when I try to run xmame on Mandrake 10.2, I'm presented with the same trouble once more. The monitor goes off, now if I could figure out this issue :/.
