u just need to copy the codecs in the path of xine
or copy themn anywhere and put that path in /etc/ld.so.conf and run ldconfig

run xine-config to get more on this

If using Mandrake, install the win32 codecs from the PLF urpmi repository, than change your xine settings to search for plugins in /usr/lib/win32.

I have them in /usr/lib/win32 and have that file in gxine where it looks for the "real" codecs but it won't work on these asf sites http://www.airamericaradio.com/listen.asp and http://www.bigeddieradio.com/. Other Windows file sites gxine handles fine w/o the codecs.
