What's the utility???

Well, hello again!

4 days after my first linux installation, and I just started getting the linux philosophy (file organization, rpm's and f****n tar's, etc.)

Exciting! I couldn't believe that there would be such a great number of software available, I even found Radio s/w for my TV-FM card ( 2 tv apps are included in mandriva powerpack).

My question this time is purely informative. I've been looking to linux screenshots, and most of them, have a desktop utility, that shows a clock, cpu useage, hd free space etc. etc.
Though there are system monitoring utilities in mandriva, i'd like to install this one mostly for aesthetic reasons....

I think i'll keep running linux, and just see what happens...!

I presume you are using KDE as you mentioned Mandriva?
If so, have a look at SuperKaramba

Lots of SuperKaramba themes can be found here

Also check out Conky if you just want text based info.
