excellent, I followed the instructions but now I have a few questions...
what happened to club?
The site says one of the main packages is PLF, whats the difference between free and non free?
after doing all that, whenever I go into media management, I only see free, non free, and updates.... any ideas why I dont see main, jpackage or contrib?
Basically it boils down to the drivers and a few RPM packages such as RealPlayer (which is not the commercial version btw, it's the "free" version packaged as an RPM!).
The Pay version includes prebuild and customized RPM's for ATI, NVIDIA, DSL modems, and a few other devices... such as the slmodemd/slamr winmodem, etc.
ALL of these are available through other means, albeit with a bit more work on your part to install...
e.g. the Nvidia driver is available from Nvidia, but requires installation of the kernel-source tree and letting the Nvidia driver build a new module.
slmodem is available (in newer form) off the net, but you must compile the driver and apply patches... easy to do.
etc.
That's about it.
If you've set up your URPMI sources, you actually have access to a bunch of programs which ARE NOT included in the DVD, in addition to those on the DVD powerpack.
