I am running mandrake 10.1 official. I am interested in mandriva 2006. Is there an upgrade option like the other one had? If I choose the upgrade option, will I keep all of my date, files, etc? Should everything still work? What will the differences be?

You can use the upgrade function on Mandriva 2006 to move from 10.1 - that's what I did a couple of months ago. You will not lose your files, settings or bookmarks. I have had Mandrake 7.1, 10.1 and now 2006 - this is by far and away the most stable and user friendly version. I think it is worth upgrading just for that - and it should only take 20 minutes or so. I bought the DVD version from cheapbytes.com - I highly recommend doing this over buying all the damn CD's. It is just so nice to plop in one DVD and be done. Be sure to set-up for urpmi of course.
