unable to boot mandriva 2007.0

I have a PC with
Asrock p4i45gv r 5.0 motherboard
80Gb hdd Samsung SP0802N
Nvidia Geforce FX 5200 videocard
and 256 Mb of Ram.
The point is, that my videocard conflicts with the io_apic module. The single way to solve this problem is to switch to the videocard included in the mainboard and recompile the kernel without io_apic. I have compiled the kernel, but at the boot, it stops at the message: setting clock (localtime). I don't get any kernel panic, anything. The PC simply blocks.

No, simply configure the kernel without the APIC timer. I simply rebuilt the kernel using a working configuration file, i made on my own. I didn't know that i can start the kernel with noapic using GRUB.

Yeah, I understood you... I am suggesting to turn it off in GRUB as well. It is too easy to miss something recompiling the kernel..b'sides, it's like using a sledge-hammer to kill a gnat.
