I need help with installing Linux Mandriva, Limited 2006 Edition (Came with
magazine, 3 cd\'s) I have 2 Hard drives, one totally empty and One almost full, One with Windows XP. I'm trying to install this copy of Mandriva On the Empty one, It doesn't work. it freezes on the Loading screen after the first screen. (Press F1 for more Options, Press Enter to install.) so then i tried to install it Via text only... It stopped here:

HDA: Imax request size=1024Kib
HDA: Lost Interrupt
HDA: Lost Interrupt

Please Help me. thank you

If you press F1, F2, F3 do you get any menus?

if yes look for the page with kernel options
type
video=vesa noapic nolapic acpi=off
to disable usual culprits
I do not think it will make any difference
(same try also to disable ethernet card in bios)

What bios version and motherboard? How old is the PC
What exact model of hardrive? Is this a sata?

Now more likely to work:
1) Try mandriva 2007 2) check/try 2006 cds on another machine if possible
2) kernel boot parameters disable DMA for the HD

It does not look too good from here
