Graphics-wise, everything looks normal from the icons to the windows and background. Only the text is unreadably tiny. I thought there might be some option to increase the font size, but since I can't read anything on the screen, I'm pretty much fumbling in the dark here.
Any suggestions?

I have MDK 10 but this should work in 10.1 as well.
As root go to etc/X11/xdm/xservers, look for this line:
0 local /usr/X11R6/bin/X -deferglyphs 16
Add this to the end of that line. -dpi 96
You can change this to whatever you like such as
-dpi 100 to increase the size.
Don't remove anything just add the extra to the line.
This worked for me, but you can do a search on this forum
there a lot of tutorials on how to change the fonts.
