hi i'm having some strange issues i can't run x11 applications when i try with them my screen turns black and nothing happen. i just recently installed mandrake 10.1 and this problem begin within; i was sure it was because my radeon 9000 drivers weren't installed properly so i upgraded xorg to 6.8 and installed fglrx package from ati every thing with this installations whent fine now i got 3d acceleration glxinfo shos ati vendor but my problems with some applications aren't gone at all ; when i try to run wine or play in xmame compiled for x11 the problem show it self again. back in MDK 10 everything was fine i mean i could run any application and nothing goes wrong. Any ideas?

ON a complete fresh install with no changes to the config of Mandrake and the correct monitor, screen resolution, frequencies (vertical range and horizontal) and graphics card chosen, is X running ok before ANY driver or software installations?

Yes it's a fresh install, but i got news i just fix that creapy problem , there was something bad with dga modes the only thing that i do to fix it wass uncoment one line on xorg.conf i do not remember wich one at the moment i'll post it when i return home ok?.

by the way with mandrake 10.1 i also have another problems , my paralel port wasn't detected at al so to fix this just use modprobe lp as root and thats all.
