severe problemin chroot.


mandrake 10.0+suse.

i have one pertition for mandrake 10.0(/dev/hda6)
and another for suse(/dev/hda9)

my LILO has corupted.
so that i booted from my mandrake 10.0 cd.
and manually mounted under /mnt/sysimage.

#mount /dev/hda6 /mnt/sysimage
#chroot /mnt/sysimage
/bin/sh no such file or directory.
#mount /mnt/sysimage /bin/bash


#mount /dev/hda9 /mnt/sysimage1
#chroot /mnt/sysimage1
#

it works well for suse linux.

but i have the problem only with mandrake 10.0.

what is that /bin/sh no such file dir.

i have mounted at different location and checked but no worthy.

pls help on this?

IS THERE ANY OTHER COMMAND FOR CHROOT.

chroot /mnt/sysimage1 /bin/bash
you see if you don't tell your "chroot" it starts the default /bin/sh
and in Mandrake (and some other distros) it is a sim link to /bin/bash take a look:
[andygo@support andygo]$ ls -la /bin/sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 25 17:34 /bin/sh -> bash*
all you have to do is to tell which shell to start
chroot /mnt/sysimage1 /bin/bash
