SCSI Hard Drive Not On the List (Installing 10.0)

I'm trying to do a network install from a floppy. My hard drive is in an old Dell server, and it is an Adaptec AHA-2940 Ultra/Ultra W Host Adapter with a Quantum Fireball 1080S.

Neither of these is on the hardware list. Is there any hope?

TIA.

Tony

I've done some research and it looks like it is possible, but I need to know how. Since I am doing the install over the internet, I'm not really sure if I can copy a driver to my hard disk and load it that way. The installer doesn't seem to give that kind of option.

I have searched high and low but not found a fix for this. Has anyone gotten this SCSI controller to work with Mandrake 10.0?

Tony,

My computer has an Adaptec 2940UW with a Quantum hardrive. Mandrake 10.0 official found it fine. I had some problems with 10.0 CE and had to follow the errata found on Mandrake's web page to get it to recognize the thing, but the official version found it fine.

Stunter:

Did you do the network (internet) install from floppies, or how did you install?

Thanks,

Tony

edit:

Could you also provide a link to the fix? Is it this one?

Error scenario: Unable to read partition table (of /dev/hda) when a SCSI CD-ROM is on the system.
Why: The install boot sequence failes to create the SCSI devices under /dev.
Solution: When the installer reaches the point where the error message is displayed, press CTRL-ALT-F2 to go to a console and type at the prompt "mknod /dev/sr0 b 11 0" and then return to the GUI by pressing CTRL-ALT-F7. Select "no" to deleting the drive and the install process will loop back and work the second time.

Tony,

I downloaded the iso images and burned my own CDs.

Yes, that was the errata I was talking about.
