I am running gdesklets in MDV 2006 for AMD 64. I have two questions:
- How can I start gdesklets automatically when the system starts? I would like them loaded without having to type "gdesklets" in the terminal.
- I have noticed that the gdesklets which have bars for measuring temperatures, RAM, etc, don´t work well in MDV 2006 the bars doesn´t fit with the real values. The same gdesklets run perfectly in MDV 2005. Any clue about this?

Depends upon your window mgr:
Gnome: In Desktop/Preferences/Sessions/Startup items add /usr/bin/gdesklets (or correct path)
Kde: the following link should do it "ln -s /usr/bin/gdesklets ~/.kde/Autostart/gdesklets"
In both cases (or in alternate WM's) your looking for keyword autostart.
Not sure about your second question, ...I don't use gdesklets
I am using Gnome, so Ie followed your instructions for it, and it works when I start the system.
However, I have two problems:
- When I start Gnome, the splash screen does not disappear until I click it. żżż?????
- If I try to shutdwon the system just after everything has finished loading and it is running, I dont see the window to chose if I want to reboot or close the session. I appears half a minute after I have selected the option.
I don know why all this happens. When I added the /usr/bin/gdesklets in "session-> load on startup", thera was a number to set, maybe the prioroty of the command added. I have left it to the default value, 50. Should I chage it??

1) you could just disable the splash entirely in the same sessions config
2) does this happen all the time or is your system just busy starting up (incl. those gdesklets) You shouldn't have to shutdown immediately after startup very often.
I believe the number your referring to is the order# (the order in which the apps run at startup). 50 is fine.
