Question RedHat or SuSe or Mandrake for DOMINO ?


Hi everybody,

I had to setting up a DOMINO SERVER 6.5 on LINUX but i don't know which one to choose between RedHat, Mandrake or SuSE.

Does anybody could help me and is it possible to download the need one somewhere ?

RedHat or Mandy, i think you have to pay for SuSE.

any distro will work though.

I am a new guy in Linux world and everywhere i hear Linux is free but where can i dowload RedHat or Mandrake ?

You can download ISOs the cds from various distributions at http://www.linuxiso.org

you should try SuSE. i think they you will find a lot of help for it online and also it is a pretty standardised(excuse the spelling) distro....u can always download a boot CD and then install over the net.it takes a max of 4 hrs on a decent cable connection.

Issues with the install on RH9

Not too sure about SuSE, but Redhat 8/9 has issues with the install. IBM seem to claim that its fixed in release 6.5 of Domino, but I've still got a few issues. I would still stick with Redhat though.... both are US companies based near each other. Domino on SuSE is much bigger in Europe.
