Unhappy printing probs after security update 10.1

Anyone help me?
I have been using Linux for a little while now and I have just upgraded to mandrake 10.1, how ever after using the mandrake update and installing all the patches, my printer will not work on my small network. (Crossover cable laptop/pc)
Mandrake is installed on my laptop, and i connect to my main pc (a winxp box with my Epson printer attached.
Cups worked fine before the updates, i use samba smb i think its configured ok. I can see my server form my laptop. includeing the printer whe forced to view using the printer options in KDE. I can also see the my laptop form the server (Via Samba)
Its just the printing does anyone have any ideas please.
all works fine before the updates are applied.
