The Palm OS works quite well syncing with Linux. (I use a Palm Tungsten T3. )
PDAs running the Windows OS (WinCE? I forget....) may have more difficulty. IIRC, the is a tool for syncing them with Linux, but I have never used it (obviously). Perhaps someone else will come along who does use that.

Thanks for the info it`s much appreciated. Palm OS is also okay.
My Goals are to be able to sync email and anything else in Kontact, either via USB, Wifi or bluetooth.
Been looking at the Palm Tungsten E2 with intergrated bluetooth, would buy it right now if I could be sure that I can get it to talk to Mandriva.
You *should* be able to use it. I sync mine using KPilot, via USB. Just a word of advice: To get mine to work, I had to use the "NOAPIC" option at boot. I edited my lilo.conf file manually, but you can also get to that option in the Mandriva Control Center, on the "Boot" tab.
I recently did a fresh install of Mdv 2006, and Kpilot more-or-less "just worked". I used the "Wizard" the first time I ran it, and it picked up my Palm pretty quickly. I have mine configured to sync to Kontact, too. I *did* have to go into the configuration screens to specifically select what I did and didn't want synced, but that's pretty self-explanatory.
Purchased Palm Tungsten E2, and it works just fine syncing with Kontact via Kpilot, the E2 comes with Bluetooth and also able to connect the Palm to the Internet.
Here`s a great way to send large files direct to your PDA`s expansion card using Linux, discovered this gem today :-
Using a palm application called Softick CardExport II
Just install this on your PDA, there are versions for Palm, Pocket PC, Win Mobile.
Connect your USB cable, fire up CardExport on your PDA, and it then creates a device on your linux desktop called Hard Disk (sda1) Works great in Mandriva 2006 and Windows XP no, no need to install any drivers.
You can read and write directly to the expansion card! transfer pics, mp3, video, whatever you like.
Also found that the Palm video player called TCPMP plays video much better than the one built into the Palm, remember to also install the additional codecs that comes in the the TCPMP zip, and you can play almost ANY video!
