-> No matching precompiled kernel interface was found on the NVIDIA ftp site;
this means that the installer will need to compile a kernel interface for
your kernel.

on your system.

If you are using a Linux 2.6 kernel, please make sure
you have configured kernel sources matching your kernel
installed on your system. If you specified a separate
output directory using either the "KBUILD_OUTPUT" or
the "O" KBUILD parameter, make sure to specify this
directory with the SYSOUT environment variable or with
the appropriate nvidia-installer command line option.
ERROR: Installation has failed. Please see the file
'/var/log/nvidia-installer.log' for details. You may find suggestions
on fixing installation problems in the README available on the Linux
driver download page at xxx.nvidia.com.

++++++

According to log i already have drivers installed... so

rpm -qa | grep nvidia

result is nothing!

++++++

Tried modprobe nvidia

[root@localhost source]# modprobe nvidia
FATAL: Module nvidia not found

++++++

EEEEK!!!!

when looking at xorg.conf, driver is picking up nv (not nvidia) if i change it to nvidia - X doesn't work (i guess cause drivers are not installed!)

++++++

Where do i go now? I have tried a lower kernel (2.6.8.1.24) and lower drivers (6111)

but still have same messages..

i couldn't solve that problem, i think i did once but i had no GUI. That actually happened twice. So i just decided to go back to my favorite distro RH9 .. I'll go back to MDK10.1 when the GUI installer is released for the nvidia drivers.
