NO source-kernel !!!
i am a nobee....
i was tring to get my wireless card working thru ndiswrapper.......
the ndis.. site said that we must make sure that we have the 'kernel-source'.
using rpmdrake (config > config yur comp) i tried to search but it wasnt there... so i thought that if its installed I should find it in un-install section and couldnt find it there also
1) i tried urpmi but it said: package not found
2) rpm -qa | grep kernel returns : kernel-2.6.8.1.12mdk-1-1mdk
so now where is the kernel-source package and how do i install it ??

The kernel-source should also be on the Mandrake install cd's... if you search for kernel in rpmdrak, it should come up (you just gotta select which on you wanna use, there's two sources), just make sure you have. the cd's as a installiable source.

kernel-source is only included in Mandrake powerpack editions
cd4
you need to get it generally elsewhere
contrib ftp or from rpm.pbone.net
http://urpmi.borgnet.us/

Kernel-source is avaliable on the downloaded CD's, you don't have to use any other sources to get them... I beleive they are on CD 3, unless the powerpack cd's come with a nonstandard kernel...
As far as I understood, the only thing that was really on cd 4 was KDE 3.3

I only Noticed because everytime i Install NVIDIA .run file KDE played up spitting out sigsev errors
so io read the readme and it said i required kernel-source and it wasnt on any my CD´s so i had to download it
i later borrowed a friends cd4 from powerpack and it happened to have it.
The Driver thing might be why they include it with the download editiion
