no GUI with ATI Radeon 9700

Long time ago i'm trying to install a newer version of Mandrake , 9.1 and now 9.2

in the 9.2 installation when i arrive to the "graphical Setup" fglx is the default driver for the radeon 9700, but it doesn't work with the test

I try change monitor , driver, screen resolution but i get the same error msg,

(EE) screen(s) found , but none have a usable configuration

when i finish the installation the GUI doesn't start, i log in console mode run

startx and i get the same error msg.

anyone help ?

regards Hugo Silva
