Angry Never getting correct md5 on isos

I have downloaded the 3 mandrakelinux10.0 isos several times from different mirrors. I can never get an md5 checksum match.

My question is: why is this so difficult? doesn't downloading have on-the-fly packet checking and other methods for asuring the integrity of the file?

Is there some kind of download manager that helps with these kinds of problems? I have tried using my browser and filezilla.

I'm on a windows machine, I have no linux to work with.

btw, I can't recall EVER having so much trouble downloading a file. Is there some kind of micro$oft process running in the background that scrambles linux downloads?

I've wasted 2 disks already, the disks burn and display their contents, but any attempt to access the files results in errors such as "cannot open file, check that the disk is in the drive."

The target machine is incapable of CD boot. (it's old)
