Question NEC MultiSync LCD860nx w/ GeForce 4 4200 won't display KDE

Hi,

Tonight I installed Mandrake 9.2 for the first time on my computer tonight and I was unable to get KDE to load under any combination of resolutions or color settings. I have the following configuration:

GeForce 4 4200
NEC MultiSync LCD 1860nx monitor.
DFI LanParty NFII Ultra
AMD XP 2100+
256 megs of DDR.

The installer gui works fine, but when I configure the video settings any settings I test simply display a black screen.

Many thanks,
Andy Nortrup

Hey Andy, could you post your config in here? I assume your editing your XF86Config-4 file.

XF86Config-4 file

Below is the XF86Config-4 file.

Also of note that I whould have litsted originaly (sorry)
the optimum resolution for the monitor is 1280x1024 at 60 hertz.
Also I have not been able to get the display to work at all. But this is purely from the testing the settings in the installer.

Lastly I am relativly new to linux. I have some experiance using it and several instilations but I wouldn't call myself completely compitant.
