mouse going crazy when full CPU

Hi

Having acquired some new hard drives, I have done a fresh install of MDK 10. However, when the CPU is under full load, the mouse cursor goes crazy, which is irritating. It also tends to hit icons / buttons and open / close various windows.

Also, if I wave the mouse around, there is a surprising amount of CPU usage. - This happens only in FireFox. Presumably this is FF tracking the cursor.

Any ideas? I had MDK 10 running happily on old HDs. I am going to install nVidia 3D drivers shortly.

Do you have DMA enabled?

try this command to show DMA status.
hdparm -d /dev/hda
