selinux is in the Mandriva kernels, but I have not used it. And know not how to invoke it.
your dns should be set to the router, not the machine. (or modem, ..)

What I have found is that our household router (192.168.1.1) is connected to the adsl2 modem (10.1.1.1)
These addresses are the same as the access pages for setup for the relevant devices (internal web-pages)
