Mandriva 2008.1 RC1 released

Mandriva 2008.1 RC1 released. But KDE is still 3.4.9. And KDE4 only in contribs, not just for RC1 but for the final release itself. What a disappointment! X(

I am surprised that KDE4 is not being made default. Wonder why!

For users of Mandriva Linux 2008.0 who do not wish to install a release candidate version, KDE 3.5.9 can be found in the main/backports repository. This media source can be easily added using Easy URPMI. If you are unfamiliar with adding media sources for your Mandriva Software Installer or urpmi. I have written an article on my LQ Blog which I hope will be helpful.

KDE 4.0.1 can be found in the contrib/backports repository.
