Mandriva 2007 + pam + winbind = headache
Hi All,
Has anyone else been having trouble authenticating though pam_winbind?
I have a PDC running Redhat EL4 and am trying to run a Mandriva 2007 mailserver with egroupware using the PDC to authenticate egroupware and saslauthd via samba/winbind. This will ensure that the usernames and passwords are in sync when someone changes their password on the PDC.
Now, the problem comes when you test the users on the mailserver.
wbinfo-u returns a list of domain users
wbinfo-g returns a list of domain users
getent passwd returns local users but no domain users
getent group returns local groups but no domain groups. It does however list the users group as:
BUILTIN+users
and then goes on to list all of the users on the PDC as part of that group.
The winbind authentication was set during install and I've run drakauth to set it to authenticate against a windows domain but it still doews the same thing.
Incidentally, I have Mandriva 2006 running under winbind with no problems at all. The only evident difference between the two being the layout of the pam files in /etc/pam.d which have been merged from 4 seperate files for auth, session, etc. into one called system-auth.
Any help appreciated.
Cheers,
Jools
