I'm a newbee in the linux thing, so I need some help if possible. I'm trying to install Mandriva powerpack 2006. I have nf4 ultra motherboard and 2x120 GB sata disks on Nvidia raid controler mounted as raid 0. 2 partitions, ntfs C, and ntfs D, and about 30 Gigs of unallocated space. I have Windows XP installed on C. My idea was to install Mandriva on that 30 gigs left. But when I start the installation from a DVD it breaks when a message "instaling SOME NVIDIA SATA driver" appears. Is there a solution to this problem ? Can I install Mandriva on raid 0 at all ? Can I do it without losing my data on win C and D partitions?
Please help.

well while u wait for a better answer...heres my question...did you choose expert install to get the option to choose free space?

whatever you did, then did you get an opton to see what linux file format to use eg ext3...reiser....xfs etc?

when install hangs....what is the name of the sata driver? that is leading to the hang.....and how long do you wait b4 frustration begins and you close it down?

can you specify the controller by make and model pls?

2. I didn't get to the drake if that's what you're asking me. I just pass the "accept licence agrement" part, than it hangs.
3. Didn't got to the file format part

It' installs that sata driver like 10 minutes. (get back to you the name of the driver)

The controller is onboard nVidia RAID controler, but I don't know the model.
