In mandrake you don't realy need a program like stylexp to customize your look& feel. But if you want more than the default themes, there are options.

Go to http://www.kde-look.org/ if you use KDE and http://www.gnome-look.org/ if you use Gnome. Look under the Themes/styles section in the menue to the left.

A guide to install icons can be found here.

KDM theme manager

Also you could search for "theme" in control center softwareinstaller.

Be more specific. What kind of themes are you looking for? gnome-look.org for gnome, kde-look.org for kde.

You have to compile them by doing
Code:
$./configure --prefix=`kde-config --prefix`
$make
#make install

If the button is disabled it means that there are no extra options to configure for that particular theme.

KDM Theme Manager shows up in the System Administration section of kcontrol. As for checking packages you do "rpm -qa | grep kdmtheme".

When i try to open KDM using 'su' it does not appear in Kcontrol and to check if the package is installed I entered the command and it gave me no output so what does that mean is it installed or not?.

Do you mean KDM theme manager and not KDM? How did you install the package? On Mandriva it should be "#urpmi kdmtheme" and it definitely shows up in kcontrol.
