Hi,
I already had Mandrake Linux 9.1 installed on my computer but because of technical issues i had to re-format my entire HD.
I want to re-install Mandrake Linux but I`m waiting for version 9.2 to be released.
Does anyone have a knowledge of when it will be officially released, or at least an approximation?
Thanks.;)
Distribution: Mandrake 8.2 (server), RedHat 7.3 pro

Approx. release is september/october (very rough timespan, sorry) to the best of my knowledge.
If you are really going to wait for the release, and leave you PC blank, why not download the latest 9.2 beta release candidate from the mandrake cooker (http://www3.mandrakelinux.com/en/92beta.php3) ?
You can contribute to the testing of this "nearly finished" experimental release - and you get to play with the new version.
1. When i go into "mandrake control center," it wont save my password when i select the checkmark to store password.
2. Probably due to a bad burning procedure using cdrw and a cheap burner under windows xp- during installation of the operating system, i need to leave my printer "off" because when it try to look for the printer rpm, i get a nasty error and wont be able to finish installing...so i do a hard crash only to find that after my operating system boots up and after i set up the network card, the information i entered for the network is not saved or either the card driver is not saved so that means that i need to set up network everytime i boot up. So... i leave printer off and when it does a good install, and i enter network during os installation, then network is saved.
3. sometimes renaming files crashes konqueror. no biggy...operating system stays stable so it doesnt crash and i restart konqueror.
4.this one is very annoying- in order for me to be happy with the operating system, i install everything except the server stuff. If i install just the kde and configuration and try to install the stuff, the operating system tells me that the RPM's have bad signatures and sometimes it wont even install it on rare occasions...well about 25% of the times.
5.For the browser, i have JAVA, flash 5 running but it lacks windows media player for streaming media and quicktime 6.
someone kindly direct me to equivalent.
Those are it for me.
Other than that, check out my website here. Its a simple html and i embeded some pics for you to see.
These are mods so dont try this with your mandrake.
It has ?Osx? like zooming icons and the menus are transparent.
I haven't been able to use printerdrake in 9.1. Cups is what was working. Have you tried http://localhost:631
THat is the cups setup page if youhave installed it.
The thing about bad signatures sounds like you just picked a Higher or above security level and it's not got the sigs from Mandrake to verify the packages are pure.
Oh and I expect beta3/final release a bit sooner than mid september, coz beta2's already out, ahead of that 'beginning of september' release date, and 9.1's beta3 was the final one.

If you set up the plf urpmi source (urpmi.addmedia texstar ftp://ftp.ibiblio.org/pub/Linux/distributions/contrib/texstar/mandrake/9.1/rpms with hdlist.cz), you can urpmi mplayer, and mplayerplugin. Mplayer can handle windows media player, quicktime, and just about any other format i've ever thrown at it.
