Mandrake 9.2 net-install, vga mode number

I just completed a Mandrake 9.2 net-install on an IBM Thinkpad A20m (2628-3SU).

Now when my laptop boots it always stops and says:

"You passed an invalid mode number"

...and then it prompts me for the correct one from a menu. I always choose:

0 0F00 80x25

i notice there's a kernel load command with the option: vga=0x1023 (or something like that)

Anyone have an idea how i can fix this?

Correction: the message was:

"You passed an undefined mode number"

SOLUTION:

EDIT /boot/grub/menu.list & replace "vga=0x0122" with the one of the correct modes (i use "0x0f00") --USE LOWERCASE!!!

What led me astray was that the same errant option, "vga=0x0122", was in /etc/lilo.conf.
So i corrected it in lilo.conf, ran "lilo" and rebooted.

The caveat was that LILO took over the boot process from GRUB.

After correcting /boot/grub/menu.lst i rebooted, and the error went away!

YEAH!!!
