Mandrake 10 Official installation hangs

Hi everyone,

Trying to install Mandrake 10 official. After booting from the CD, I get the "F1 for more options, ENTER to install" screen. I press enter, some text scrolls by, and then a black screen comes up with the "ALT+F1 for here, ALT+F3 to see the logs, ALT+F4 for kernel msg" blue bar at the bottom. And this is the screen where the installation hangs. I waited about five minutes, and it still sat here. ALT+F1/F3/F4 don't work, and I have to reset the computer.

The CD's work fine on another computer, so they are burned correctly. I tried booting from CD2 so it could ask me for CD1, but I get a "choose installation method" popup, and no keys work (up/down/left/right/enter/esc). I tried all of this in both my CD-RW drive and my DVD+-RW drive. Neither way works.

thanks to anyone for their input!

Ah!

I'm using a USB keyboard... and possibly a USB mouse... could this be the problem?

Looks like setup isn't recognising your usb devices properly. See if you can get your hand on a ps2/serial mouse and keyboard and try again.

Awesome, i got mandrake to work using a PS2 adapter for the mouse and a PS2 keyboard. however, I still want to use my USB keyboard with mandrake but it still won't boot with it plugged in... the PS2 adapter doesn't work on the keyboard, either... any ideas?

Thanks!
