I am feeling particularly clueless today. When my friend and I installed Mandrake 10.1 onto our backup PC it asked what we wanted on it, and we clicked on email server as one of the options. So, I know we installed that aspect onto our machine. My question is how do we run it, from where, and so forth. I tried a search but probably put in all the wrong key terms and couldn't find the data I was looking for. (I did get a bunch of reviews of Mandrake...) Please point me in the right direction. You have probably installed sendmail or postfix. You can run it by starting the Mandriva/Mandrake Control Center -> System -> Services. You may also need to read online documentation for postfix or sendmail so that you can configure it to suite your needs.

I do indeed have something called postfix running, but it doesn't tell me a whole lot. I guess mostly I'd interested in how to configure it. I'll do some more looking about (both on the web and the server) but help would be muchly appreciated, too. Thank you again.

If you have postfix running, then maybe you just need to look for some documentation about how it works and how to configure it. Go to the website to find out more info. If you are not comfortable with configuring stuff from the command line, you can install webmin.
