my hard drive says it is a 10.5 gig hard drive .... when I was running Windows on it it was reporting the full 10.5 gig ( separated in to 2 drives) while it is the one drive it is now only registering as a 9 gig ... is there any way to retrieve the lost gig ?
What tool are you using to view the size of the disk now? That "missing gig" could be swap space (simulated RAM), which would appear as a different partition and not normally user-writeable...
it isn't there ... when I first installed linux to my system it was showing up as a separate drive
I had some problems with my setup ( the way I set linux up ) and had to do a reinstall ... and it was only showing the one drive ( not two like it did on the first install )
