local network desyncs while using kde
I've tried google searches to assist, and did touch base on a similiar problem in nature but it was dsl users and different conditions, so, I figured I would try here and see if someone has any idea's for me.
I've been running mandrake 10 for a few weeks now and have 3 win2k machines hooked up to a hub which then connects to a speedstream 2602 router, so 4 machines total. and im using cable itnernet service.
When im running linux I use KDE, Linux 2.6.3-7mdk is the kernel.
Now, the problem I have is all machines suddenly lose internet access and can no longer ping the router every hour/couple hours/seems to be random/etc, and takes about a minute for it to re-establish a link, almost as if the router was rebooting since it wont answer pings during this time.
This seems to mostly happen when im running pan, a news reader/downloader
im using pan version 0.14.2
Due to not being able to ping the router ive been persuing this with the idea that its a router issue, is this a correct strategy and does anyone know whats going on?
