kernel sources lost

The problem started in trying to open the kernel configurater in usr/etc. I got an error that maybe there is a configuration problem in the file. So then I went to open it up in an editor and ther is no usr/etc/linux file!

The location should be usr/etc/linux/arch//config.in, right?

Nah, the kernel is in /usr/src/linux but I don't know where the config.in is. What do you need that for? Have a look at http://www.tldp.org and look for a kernel-HOWTO which might be able to help you out.

If I remember right, that error comes up if you don't have the kernel source installed. Type in a terminal:

rpm -q kernel-source

If it says that it's not installed, su to root and type:

urpmi kernel-source

Have your install cd's ready
