Not to worry. I figured it. Anyone who comes across this issue, please note to edit your /etc/resolv.conf file by adding the following line:
nameserver xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx #where xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx is the IP of your DNS Server e.g. ISP. Don't place your gateway IP address.
The /etc/resolv.conf is to help resolve forward IP requests e.g.
www.cisco.com
