= Your hardware doesnt like APIC
1st.
try unplugging the windows Harddrive
(i had an error on a windows HDD recently which caused Mandrake 2006 installer not to boot) (dont tick disable in bios as linux uses its own BIOS system and will still use it)
if that fixes it than you will need to delete all partitions on the windows HDD
2nd
when the install cd boots press F1
instead of Enter to install.
type
linux noapic
3rd
(if that still fails)
enter BIOS and search for and disable
IOAPIC or APIC
usually in CPU Settings of AMI Bios
or
Advanced Chipset in Award Bios.
(if all fails)
when the install cd boots press F1
instead of Enter to install.
press F2 and choose a different kernel.

I can see that it might have something to do with my chipset. I'm runing an NForce chipset, if it helps any. Any additional info will be provided if needed.

NForce has reasonable amount of support since it is very popular
but all devices
Motherboard us the less common ATI XPress 200 chipset every onboard device installed straight away.
I had 2 of the above problems
My windows HDD was causing sync errors
and
linux noapic
fixed install disc halting at initializing SATA/IDE chipset during boot.
in my case at the "Configuring Bootloader" ironically i dont need to use noapic to load Mandriva after installed
and if i do tick "NoAPIC" or "NO local APIC" USB and NIC don't work at all.
