i585 with i686 problems

I think ive figured my ipm1 problem. Is there a possibility that because im running a HT processor which is i686 that its not compatible with i585 10.1 community release of Mandrake? If so any suggestions on how to fix this.

No,
it only breaks if you go the other way, say if you run an i686 package on an 386 processor.
