how to work audigy

try the emu10k1 package from sourceforge

No need to go to sourceforge. the alsa drivers are included in 9.1 and 9.2.

With 9.1, the sound card configuration utility froze so I can't comment on that.

In 9.2, just select the emu10k1 driver (alsa) instead of the audigy (oss) one in the hardware configuration section of the mandrake control center.

Install aumix (alsa mixer) or use kmix. kmix will adapt to the kind of driver you use. You will see an awful lot of levels. If there is a chance that the digital output is enabled, then it should be there.

i am running 9.1 ... i have aumix installed and i am not sure which sound card drivers are placed right now (i believe its the audigy emu10k1 driver).

I can run aumix fine, and I even see a digital1 level, but no sound seems to be coming out of my system....

try to take a look at the emu-tools package from http://sourceforge.net/projects/emu10k1
they contain an emu-dsp manager to get your stuff to work
