How to Configure Widgets and dash clock to auto-start to desktop....?

Hey guys,

Can you tell me what command line I have to run to get dash clock to boot-up/auto-start onto my desktop when I boot my PC?

I tried doing a search on this site and it tells me I have not entered enough words.

Thanks for your help and tips......

I've never used any desktop widgets, but the easiest way to run most programs at startup is simply to create a link to the program exec in your desktop environment's autostart folder. Assuming you're using kde, you'll use ~/.kde/Autostart. I'm not familiar with gnome or other DE's, but there's probably something similar in them.

If that doesn't start it the way you want, you'll need to create a kde desktop link file or write a simple script that launches the programs the way you want and add it to Autostart instead.

Thanks David, that works, the command (a 2nd way) to place in Konsole is the following:

[Desktop Entry]
Exec=superkaramba ~/DashClock/DashClock.theme
Name={DashClock}
Type=Application
X-KDE-StartupNotify=false

I found a real easy way to do this, right click on desktop, select "link to application" then enter in command box "/home/your username/dashclock/dashclock.themes"

You have to extract dashclock to your home.

Karamba must be installed.....
