You can always [in the Software Manager] just add a new entry, then -browse- (there should be a button allowing you to) to the CD while it's placed into the specific cddrive you want to use. And that should be enough, it should then start reading the stuff on CD which might take awhile. When browsing to the RPMS folder it automatically fills in the specific field, then all you need to add is your own description for that CD, the other field it will fill in automatically (after you added it).
Oh make sure to remove/disable the original entry first though. I think it might conflict if you add the exact same CD twice [not sure what will happen and whether it will list packages twice or what].
I had Mandrake 10 CE Powerpack [5 CDs] and then installed Mandrake 10 Official [only 3 CDs in my case] and i wanted to add the powerpack software to the database. So what i did was
the above mentioned process [adding and browsing to the specific cd while inserted in certain cdrom]. There were one major catch, not sure why but i had to make sure of the following.
The RPMS is usually located under say /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake/RPMS. If i selected the full directory direct to the RPMS then it would read in the packages but not the descriptions [so it knows it's there, but you can't see the description when you're in the installation view]. But if i made it /mnt/cdrom/Mandrake it then did it properly [even if there's multiple RPM dirs under the Mandrake folder].
So maybe instead of using /mnt/cdrom2/Mandrake/RPMS , try using /mnt/cdrom2/Mandrake only.
When it didn't read the RPM descriptions it added my entry instantly. When it read everything properly it took quite awhile to read the CD [few minutes].
