I’m trying to install Mandriva on my system. I have a athlon 64 processor and my mobo is the MSI Nvidia k8n neo4 platinum, HD is sata 120G (maxtor ).
I downloaded the iso (Mandriva-Linux-2005-Limited-Edition-Download-DVD.i586.iso) and did a md5 check, no probs so far… :-)
When i start the installation after choosing the language, and accepting the terms etc.. I get the following screen: Installing driver for HD controller nVidia Corporation CK804 Serial ata controller. It takes about 30 minutes!! before something happens, and then i get an error message… when i install in Dutch (Belgian me) I get a different message: installing driver for HD Silicon Image Sil 3114A Serial ata controller…

So far my succes with mandriva :-(

There where never any probs with XP, Ubuntu and SuSe 9.3 that are also on the system here…
