Gaming...

I am a true die hard gamer, my computer is basically just to play games, but I want to switch to Linux because it is so much faster than Windows... Problem is, I don't understand how to get games working on it. I have heard of Wine and WineX and Cedega, though I don't know anything about them, and what I have heard is that, well, they suck. Is there an alternative to gaming with Linux? I have heard of people playing Neverwinter Nights without Wine on Linux, so how is that possible?

Some major games are now being released for linux such as Unreal Tournament. Winex is a commercial version of Wine which is made specifically for games which can be found here. Also linux allows you the ability to make a machine that is really good at gaming. For instance, if you won't notice animated menu and eyecandy in kde or gnome while you're playing a game, why have it waste cpu and memory. You can shut things like that off to get optimal preformance.

I've been using transgaming since it came out and the new versions are just fantastic. They work great and now support directx 9.0

Yeah... I know that. I was just wondering if there was any other way though because Cedega (WineX 4.0-1) keeps telling me the find my CD-ROM devine AND mount point... I can only find the mount point, I don't know what it means by the device itself.
