finding the hosts help me


Hi,
there are 5 systems connected through internet.
they are not connected by LAN.
how can i find the init process ID of other systems.
and how can i find what are the programs they are running and their process ID.

you will need to use "ps" or another means to find process lists, and accessing them remotely.. well that's a totally different issue... maybe publish the results via a webserver? use a dedicated ssh login that automatically returns the ps output?

The init process is always ID 1.
The others you can find out by ssh-ing to the server and use 'ps -ax'.

Most of your questions don't seem to be Mandrake related at all but more newbie ones.
