error make xconfig

I get this:

cat header.tk >> ./kconfig.tk
./tkparse < ../arch/i386/config.in >> kconfig.tk

make[1]: *** [kconfig.tk] Error 1

make: *** [xconfig] Error 2

I'm compiled a kernel before but never got anything like this. Can someone please tell me what i'm doing wrong here.

that should be simple,
it should be right in the man page
but i didn't find it,

do you have tcl/tk installed correctly?

Mandrake 9.2?

If so then this is another of those "not everything provided" problems. It'll work if you download a new kernel source from kernel.org

what kernel package were you using,
what fixed it
and which kernel did you get to fix it?

I used the one on the Mandrake 9.2 cd's. I didn't have this problem with the new 2.6.0 kernel.
