Running Mandriva 2007, does updating files, apps, libs and such through the MCC Software Management window remove the old file when the updated file is installed ?
Thanks in advance,
Scott
I think the old packages are uninstalled first and then the new ones are installed afterwards. Note that config files and kernels are not totally overwritten. Config files are saved and have an *.rpmsave extension.
Thanks Reddazz, as always !
I'll be on the lookout for .rpmsave files now that I know what they're for.
I have such a great running Mandriva 2007 machine, thanks to you and the others here that I hate to disturb the kernel if possible.
Scott
