I have a usbmouse connected at the same time. They both work together.

Hi,

I tried doing what is mentioned in your post. It doesn't work.
One question: Can I take "synaptics_drv.o" as it comes with driver and put it in directory you mentioned OR As suggested in the driver's README I should use makefile and then copy this file. Moreover destination for this file suggested by you and that by README/INSTALL file with driver is different.

To be able to use Makefile I should have XFree86's source directory information, which apparently I don't.

What I forgot to mention:

in the:

Section "ServerLayout"
Identifier "layout1"
InputDevice "Keyboard1" "CoreKeyboard"
InputDevice "Mouse1" "SendCoreEvents"
InputDevice "Mouse2" "CorePointer"
Screen "screen1"
EndSection

The Mouse1 and 2 are what is listed in the "Indentifier" section of your mouse listings. I just copied the Synaptic driver. I did not compile it first.

I tried something like this...But I guess I gave "CorePointer" for both mice.....Anyways I will try this.....

And how about the destination location of driver file? Your post seems to differ from README/INSTALL file.

Hey ac_dispatcher,

This works absolutely fine. You may want to update your post on Mandrakeuser forum to include this piece too and make it thorough. Thanks very much.
