can't login my user account/KDE from boot

I am running 10.1 and have set the system to login to my account on boot automatic. I get a message

The following installation problem was detected when trying to start KDE.

No write access to 'home/george/.ICEauthority' KDE is unable to start.

with a OK button.

What permissions are missing on the directory and sub dirs? How do I fix this?

I can access root no problem.
