hello,
urpmi klibidoXXXX gives the following error:
A requested package cannot be installed:
klibido-0.2.5-3plf2007.0.i586 (due to unsatisfied libdb_cxx-4.2.so)

i copied libdb_cxx-4.2.so in /usr/lib, but i still get the same error.

??

1) urpmi (rpm) will not look into files copied or installed
by 'make install' but relies only on/var/lib/rpm.
2) klibido with dependencies will install on mandriva 2007.0
(I just did)

Make sure you have updated your rpm repositories, these change all the time and it's easy for a system to ask the server for a file that doesn't quite match the version number.

urpmi.update -a ,will update the repos you already have setup.

Hope fully that will fix your dependency issues.

Now to clarify make install...
You can install a package scource-install...rpm and it can help you keep track of make installed programs (it has a manual, I have it installed but haven't required it (yet!)).
