Beryl Users Read Here
Hello I have been fighting getting Beryl to work again for days, I finally got it up and running and working, how you say, turn off the 3D affects after you get the Compiz 0.5.x updates these make it so you can not Type anything in the packagemanager. Then after Remove Compiz completely. Then go back into Beryl and install it, also adding the aquamarine as it needs it but uses the Emerald instead. Then make sure your WM files state Beryl and Emerald not just Beryl or it will give you an all white Screen and you can do nothing.
This applies to all Mandriva 2007.1 Users from One to Ultimate all of these are affected in the same way. DO not Install Compiz at all or Beryl Stops working you get one Locked Desktop and can do little or nothing in package manager to fix it with the 3 D Desktop Enabled, you MUST Turn this off if you wish to Fix the Beryl Crash with Compiz.
